A.5.1.1...contaminated elements can expose firefighters to toxins that enter the body through ingestion, inhalation, or absorption.  Repeated small exposures can add up over time and cause health problems...

4.2.1. Each individual member shall conduct a routine inspection... after each use...

5.2.1...any elements that are soiled shall receive routine cleaning, spot clean, brush and rise with water...

5.3.1. Every 6 months, at minimum, elements that have been issued shall receive advanced cleaning...

5.5.2.1. Chlorine bleach or chlorinated solvents shall not be used...

5.1.3...contaminated elements shall not be brought into the home, washed in home laundries...

5.1.4...commercial dry cleaning shall not be used...
